IBPS Clerk Exam 2022 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates, intending to apply for IBPS Clerk Exam 2022 Engagement of Special Officer and Recruitment of Clerks/Cashiers and Clerks/Typists should ensure that they fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria specified by IBPS in their official notification :
(i) Nationality The candidate must be either a Citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan or a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before the stipulated date or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from certain neighbouring countries as mentioned in the original notification published in the official website of IBPS (ii) Age Minimum: 20 years; Maximum: 28 years as of 01.07.2022. DoB should within 02.07.1993 to 01.07.2001 (Both days inclusive). Age Relaxation Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe 5 years Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) 3 years Persons With Disabilities 10 years Ex-Servicemen I Disabled Ex-Servicemen The actual period of service rendered in the Defence Service forces + 3 years 8 years for Disabled Ex-servicemen belonging to SC/maximum age limit is 50 years Widows, divorced women, and women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried 35 years age for General/EWS 38 years age for OBC 40 years age for SC/ST candidates Persons affected by 1984 riots 5 years (iii) Educational Qualification (i) A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Govt. Of India.
(ii) Computer Literacy: Operating and working knowledge in computer systems is mandatory i.e. candidates should have a Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/Language / should have studied Computer I Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High School/College/Institute.
(iii) Proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT) for which vacancies a candidate wishes to apply is preferable.
(iv) Ex-Servicemen who do not possess the above civil examination qualifications should be matriculated Ex-Servicemen who have obtained the Army Special Certificate of Education or corresponding certificate in the Navy or Air Force after having completed not less than 15 years of service in the Armed Forces of the Union as on 21.05.2022. Such certificates should be dated on or before 07.07.2022.
IBPS Clerk Exam 2022 Selection Process
The examination will be two tiers i.e. the online examination will be held in 02 Phases
(i) Online Preliminary and
(ii) Online Main.
Candidates who will qualify for Online Preliminary Examination and be shortlisted require to appear for Online Main Examination. Depending on the vacancies to be filled in during the financial year 2022-23 based on the business needs of the Participating Banks and as reported to IBPS, candidates shortlisted will be provisionally allotted to one of the Participating Banks keeping in view the spirit of Govt. Guidelines on reservation policy, administrative convenience, etc. Various stages are as under :

IBPS Clerk Exam 2022 Pre-Examination Training
As notified by the IBPS, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, for the safety of the candidates, Pre Examination Training during this period may not be held.
Pre-Examination Training may be arranged by the Nodal Banks or Participating Banks to certain categories of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes/ Minority Communities/ Ex-Servicemen/ Persons With Benchmark Disabilities at certain centres as mentioned in the official notification
All eligible candidates who opt for and wish to avail of Pre-Examination Training should fill in the relevant column in the Online Application/Registration. Training will be imparted free of cost but no TA/DA or Fooding Lodging is admissible.
Subject-wise Cut-off Marks for Prelims IBPS Clerk Exam 2022
IBPS Clerk Exam 2022 aspirants have to qualify for all three subjects by securing cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS. Candidates who will secure minimum cut-off marks in each category as decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for the Online Main examination.

Negative Marking for IBPS Clerk Exam 2022
Penalty for Wrong Answers applies to both – Online Preliminary and Online Main Examination. There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For One Wrong answer given by the candidate fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty to arrive at a corrected score. No penalty for being left out or not attending questions.
Examination Centres of IBPS Clerk Exam 2022
IBPS Clerk Exam 2022 will be conducted online in venues throughout many centres in India. The tentative list of Examination centres for the Online Preliminary exams and those for Online Main exams are available in the official notification published by IBPS.
Provisional Allotment Through IBPS Clerk Exam 2022
The total marks allotted for IBPS Clerk Exam 2022 (Main Examination) are 200. Marks will be converted out of 100 for Provisional allotment. A candidate should qualify in the Online Main Examination and be sufficiently high in the merit to be considered for the subsequent provisional allotment process, details of which will be made available subsequently on the official website of IBPS.
How to Apply for IBPS Clerk Exam 2022
Candidates can apply online only from 21/05/2022 to 07/07/2022 and no other mode of application will be accepted by IBPS.
Before commencing the online application process, candidates should-
- Scan their : photograph (4.5cm x 3.5cm) signature & left thumb impression.
Ensure that all these scanned documents adhere to the required specifications as given in Annexure III to the official notification of IBPS.
- Signature in CAPITAL LETTERS will NOT be accepted as a signature is not just writing name.
- The left thumb impression should be properly scanned and not smudged
- The text for the handwritten declaration is as follows –
“I,(Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.”
- The above-mentioned handwritten declaration has to be in the candidate‘s handwriting and English only and should NOT BE IN CAPITAL LETTERS. If it is written by anybody else or in any other language, the application will be considered invalid.
- Keep the necessary details/documents ready to make Online Payment of the requisite application fee/ intimation charges
- have a valid personal email ID, which should be kept active till the completion of this round of the Common Recruitment Process. IBPS may send call letters for the Examination etc. through the registered e-mail ID. Under no circumstances, a candidate should share with/mention the e-mail ID of any other person. In case a candidate does not have a valid personal e-mail ID, he/she should create his/her new e-mail ID before applying online and must maintain that email account.
Online Application procedure for IBPS Clerk Exam 2022
To apply for IBPS Clerk Exam 2022, the candidate requires to :
- Visit the IBPS’s website www.ibps.in
- Click on the Home Page to open the link “CRP Clerks”
- Click on the option “CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE FOR CRP Clerks (CRP-Clerks-XI)” to open the On-Line Application Form.
- Click on “CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION ” to register their application by entering their basic information in the online application form. After that, a provisional registration number and password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. The candidate should note down the Provisional registration number and password. An Email & SMS indicating the Provisional Registration number and Password will also be sent. They can reopen the saved data using the Provisional registration number and password and edit the particulars if needed.
- Candidates are required to upload their Photograph, Signature, Left Thumb Impression & a handwritten declaration as per the specifications given in the Guidelines for Scanning, and Upload documents in the notification.
- The candidate should indicate in the online application the state to which he/she opts for provisional allotment on selection. The option once exercised will be irrevocable.
- Mode of Payment: Candidates have the option of making the payment of Fees through the ONLINE mode only.
