In a particular admission cycle, a facility for fee exemption available to SC/ST students can be claimed for one program only. If an applicant submits more than one application claiming fee exemption, all the applications shall be rejected.

Indira Gandhi National Open University has started the fresh admission process for IGNOU January 2022 Session. Candidates who want to apply for the January session can do it through the official site of IGNOU Samarth on ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. The last date to apply for fresh admissions is till January 31, 2022. 

Candidates who want to take admission in MSCMACS, PGDMCH, PGDGM, PGDHHM, DNA, PGDHIVM, and PGCMDM courses. To apply for these mentioned courses, candidates can follow the simple steps given below. 

Courses offered by IGNOU for new Admissions

Bachelor of Arts (BAG)

The University offers a Bachelor of Arts Degree with the following Disciplines:

4. Political science

Objectives: The Bachelor of Arts program is a broad-based program with a mix of disciplinary, interdisciplinary, and skill-based courses.

Eligibility: 10+2 or its equivalent

Bachelor of Commerce (BCOM)

The University offers a Bachelor of Commerce Degree

Eligibility: 10+2 or its equivalent

Bachelor of Science (BSCG)

The University offers Bachelor’s Degree in Science in the following Disciplines:

1. Botany
2. Chemistry
3. Geography
4. Geology
5. Mathematics
6. Physics
7. Zoology

Eligibility:10+2 with science subjects or their equivalent qualification.

Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)

The basic objective of the program is to open a channel of admission for computing courses for students, who have done the 10+2 and are interested in taking computing/IT as a career.

Bachelor of Library and Information Sciences

• Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree with 50% marks and 45% for General and for the SC/ST/OBC/PH category respectively. OR
• Bachelor’s Degree with Diploma (one year) in Library Science. OR
• Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of working experience in Library and Information Centre

Bachelor of Arts (Tourism Studies) BTS

BTS is a 3-year Degree Programme. The program is of 96 credits. The BTS Programme is designed for those students who are interested in pursuing a career in the travel and tourism sector at different levels.

IGNOU January 2022 Session: How to Apply 

• Visit the official site of IGNOU Samarth on ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
• Click on IGNOU January 2022 Session link available on the home page.
• Enter the login details or register yourself.
• Once done click on submit.
• Make the payment of application fees.
• Download the confirmation page and keep a hard copy of the same for further need.

A non-refundable Registration Fee of Rs. 200/- shall be charged along with the program fee of first semester/year at the time of admission. In a particular admission cycle, a facility for fee exemption available to SC/ST students can be claimed for one program only. 

IGNOU Selection Criteria 2022

Admissions are either entrance-based or based on scores obtained in the previous qualifying examination. More admission related details are as follows:

• Admissions to courses like BA, B.Com, B.Sc., BCA, BSW, BAVTM, etc are based on merit that is scores obtained in 10+2 or its equivalent.
• BLIS admissions are based on scores in bachelor’s degree or one-year Diploma in Library Science are eligible to apply.
• BBA in Retail (RL) admission is based on merit. But BBA in Service Management (SM) admission is based on entrance followed by an interview. 
• This year, applicants will be shortlisted for MBA admission based on their bachelor’s scores. The university will not conduct OPENMAT for admission.
• For admission to M.Com, MA, M.Sc. applicants are required to have passed a bachelor’s degree in their corresponding subject.
• MCA admission is based on scores in bachelor’s with Mathematics or pursues BCS12 course concurrently with MCA.
• MTTM aspirants can apply if they hold a relevant bachelor’s degree or UG degree in related subjects like Tourism, Hotel Management, etc.
• Ph.D applicants must hold an M.Phil degree or Master’s degree with at least 55% aggregate.
• PG Diploma admissions are based on graduation in any relevant subject. While Diploma admissions are based on scores obtained in 10+2 or its equivalent.

Note: Re-Registrations are only for those who are not applying for Semester based or for Certificate programs.

As per the semester examinations, IGNOU Delhi conducts Term-end Examination twice a year i.e.June & December. For more information regarding the online admission process and admit card issued by the university, students should check IGNOU Online Admission Status.

Key Points:

• There are walk-in-admissions throughout the year for Bachelor’s Preparatory Programme and all Certificate Programmes [Except Certificate in Rural Surgery (CRS) and Certificate in Teaching of Primary School Mathematics (CTPM)]
• For Management courses, an entrance test viz. OPENMAT is held twice a year.
• Admission to Bachelor of Education (B. Ed.) program is done through a national level entrance test.
• A relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks is allowed to SC/ST/PD candidates

IGNOU UG and PG Admission 2022

IGNOU offers a wide variety of Distance UG courses under various different specializations for 10+2 qualified students. Admission to the IGNOU courses usually commences in the month of February and the selection of eligible candidates is done based on their 10+2 examination marks. Apart from the Bachelor’s degree, the college also provides several Diploma courses for Undergraduate students.

Key Points:

• The Bachelor’s Degree offered by the University are for a minimum period of three years except for the Bachelor Preparatory Programme (BPP) and B.L.I.Sc. which are offered for a minimum duration of one year
• The UG Diploma courses offered are for a minimum duration of one year except for Diploma in Elementary Education which is for a period of two years

Important Dates

IGNOU MBA Admission 2022

IGNOU offers a wide range of academic programs under the School of Management Studies. It offers an MBA along with PG diploma and diploma courses. These courses are for a minimum period of two and a half years. Candidates seeking admission must have completed graduation in any discipline with minimum 50% marks for the general category. For selection, the university will not conduct entrance test this year.

The institute offers an MBA as a General subject and under the specialization of Banking and Finance. It also offers a PG Diploma under the following streams of Management:

• Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM), or
• Post-Graduate Diploma in Financial Management (PGDFM), or
• Post-Graduate Diploma in Operations Management (PGDOM), or
• Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management (PGDMM), or
• Post-Graduate Diploma in Financial Markets Practice (PGDFMP)

IGNOU MBA Eligibility Criteria

Note- The eligibility criteria for the PG Diploma courses are the same as the MBA program.

IGNOU MBA Selection Criteria

Selection of candidates to the IGNOU MBA program will not consider the score of the entrance test. While, selection to other management programs (DIM, PGDIM, and PG Diplomas in HRM, FM, OM, MM, and FMP) will be done on the basis of the score obtained in the OPENMAT, conducted all over India twice a year. Subsequently, a result card will be dispatched to all the candidates who have appeared in the OPENMAT examination. It will indicate whether the candidate has qualified or not for the IGNOU management programs on the basis of the cut-off score as per the University guidelines.

Candidates seeking admission to IGNOU management programs can register for OPENMAT by downloading the information brochure containing the application form and send it upon completion along with the prescribed fee. For the current academic session, the OPENMAT XLVII entrance test for management programs will be conducted in December. Candidates can download the hall ticket/ admit card for OPENMAT XLVII from the official IGNOU website upon entering their Enrolment Number. 

• Log on to the official IGNOU website and click the ‘Admit Card for OPENMAT Entrance Test for Management Programme’ link.
• Next, the candidate should enter his/her enrollment number OR Enter his/her name along with the date of birth. 
• Upon successful submission, the corresponding Hall Ticket/ Admit Card will be displayed on the screen. Please verify all the details printed on the IGNOU Admit Card.
