In a recent development, an Odia YouTuber known as ‘Untalented Guy’ and five other individuals have been apprehended by the police in connection with a firing incident that occurred in Balasore district, Odisha. The prime accused, identified as Udit Nayak, operated a YouTube channel under the name ‘Untalented Guy’ where he frequently posted roasting videos.
The altercation between the YouTuber and a group of people over one of his videos escalated into a violent confrontation, resulting in injuries to two individuals. The police have taken swift action and arrested the accused individuals, recovering firearms, motorcycles, and mobile phones in the process.
Arrests Made in Connection with Firing Incident
The Industrial Area Police, after receiving a complaint, initiated an investigation and formed a special team to apprehend the culprits involved in the firing incident. On Sunday, the police successfully arrested six individuals, including the prime accused, Udit Nayak.
The seized items, which were in the possession of the arrested individuals, include two pistols, two motorcycles, and seven mobile phones. The police have also requested the removal of the contentious videos from YouTube in collaboration with the platform’s officials.
Firing at Youth Over Instagram Comment Leads to Arrest
One of the incidents that led to the arrests involved the YouTuber firing at two individuals who had commented on his Instagram handle. The victims, Pinku Das from Mandarpur and Amit Kumar Das from Nianbag, were subjected to an attack by miscreants riding two motorcycles near Remuna Golai on the outskirts of Balasore town.
Udit Nayak, the main accused, fired at the duo following a heated argument, causing severe injuries. Prompt action by the Balasore Industrial Area Police led to the rescue of the victims, who were then taken to a local hospital for treatment before being transferred to the SCB Hospital in Cuttack.
Accused Individuals and Charges
The arrests made in this case pertain to a complaint filed under sections 294/324/325/326/307/379/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code, read with sections 25/27 of the Arms Act. Udit Nayak, the YouTuber operating under the name ‘Untalented Guy,’ is the primary accused.
The police have identified a total of six individuals involved in the crime, including the main accused. The investigation is still underway, and the police are actively pursuing the arrest of other accomplices associated with the case.

The police have recovered crucial evidence from the crime scene, including a pistol used during the firing incident and an empty bullet shell. Additionally, two vehicles, a motorcycle, and a scooter used by the accused individuals, along with seven mobile phones, have been confiscated. As part of the investigation, the police are delving into the background of the accused persons to ascertain their involvement in any other criminal activities.
The authorities have also formed a separate team to probe the details of the weapon procurement process. Furthermore, Udit Nayak’s bank account, containing a deposit of Rs 3.50 lakh, has been frozen. Correspondence has been initiated with social media platforms to block the YouTube and Instagram accounts associated with the accused YouTuber due to the presence of abusive content.
