Edit or Update TNPDS smart ration card details:

If you want to add or remove the family member or change the address or cancel your card then, you can update or edit your TNPDS smart card at any time.

  • Go to the official website of Tamil Nadu Public Distribution System tnpds.gov.in.
  • Click on the link for the correction of details. Then a login page opens up.
  • Enter the mobile number which you have given at the time of registration and submit it
  • You will receive an OTP. Enter that OTP.
  • Next, enter the details of the candidate which you need to edit.
  • Along with the candidate details, you need to upload supporting documents.
  • You can also upload a photo proof. it must be in jpeg, png, or gif format
  • Finally, click on the submit button to submit the details.
  • After successful submission of the correction request, you will receive a reference number.
  • With the help of that reference number, you can track your card status through the TNPDS service request status.

Smart Ration card Registration:

The existing ration cardholders can easily apply for the smart card online. You can go through the following procedure to register for the smart card.

  • Go to the official website of Tamil Nadu Public Distribution System tnpds.gov.in.
  • On the right side of the site, you will find a link to “Smart Card Application.”
  • Click on that link. It opens a smart card application page.
  • Choose the option New Smart Card Application.
  • First, enter the details of the head of the family.
  • Also, enter the address details without any mistakes.
  • Then upload a photo. It must not exceed 20 kb in size.
  • After that, click on ‘Add Member’ and enter the rest of the family members’ details.
  • Then next, select your card type, upload any address proof.
  • Next, select the checkbox if you have a gas connection.
  • Fill in the details of your gas connection.
  • Finally, select the declaration checkbox and submit the form.

Documents you need to apply for the Tamil Nadu Smart Ration Card

To apply for a smart ration card as a resident of Tamil Nadu, you must be able to present the following documents during the application process: 

  • Aadhaar card 
  • Electricity bill 
  • PAN card 
  • Passport-size photograph 
  • Income certificate 
  • Bank passbook 
  • Caste/category certificate

TNPDS smart card online Application Process

  1. To apply for a smart card, first, go to the online portal https://www.tnpds.gov.in.
  2. You need to click the Smart Card App option on the home page.
  3. After clicking the next page opens.
  4. On the next page, you have to fill out a form.
  5. You must fill in all the information requested on the form.
  6. In addition to the information, you must also enclose all documents.
  7. Then you need to provide the details of your family members, gas connections, etc.
  8. Then you need to click Submit.
  9. After clicking you will get a reference number, save it.
  10. In the same way, you can also change your address in the online portal, add any members and delete them if you wish. The process is the same for everyone. 

Procedure to Check Smart Ration Card Application Status

  1. Visit Tamil Nadu Public Distribution System Official Website. Click here
  2. The page will initially be loaded in the Tamil language.
  3. To switch to English, select English in the top right corner of the website.
  4. Then click the Smart Card Application Status link.
  5. The status page of the smart card application opens, where you have to enter your reference number.
  6. Then click the Submit button.
  7. After the reference number has been transmitted, the status of your smart card will be displayed.

Edit or update the  details on your smart ration card

If you want to add or remove the family member, change your address, or cancel your card, you can update or edit your TNPDS smart card at any time.

  1. Visit Tamil Nadu Public Distribution System official website tnpds.gov.in.
  2. Click the link for correcting details. Then a login page opens.
  3. Enter the mobile number given during registration and send it from
  4. You will receive an OTP. Enter this OTP.
  5. Next, enter the candidate details that you need to edit.
  6. You must upload the evidence together with the applicant data.
  7. You can also upload a photo print. It must be in JPEG, PNG, or GIF format.
  8. Finally, click the Submit button to submit the details.
  9. After the correction request has been successfully submitted, you will receive a reference number.
  10. With the help of this reference number, you can track the status of your card via the status of the TNPDS service request. 

How to check the project report on public distribution on the smart ration card

  1. First of all, you need to go to the official website.
  2. Then the start page is opened on the screen.
  3. The home page has an option to click on “Public Distribution Project Report”.
  4. After clicking, select your district.
  5. Once selected, you have the Item Details option and click on it.
  6. Then all information is opened. 

How to download the digital ration card

  1. Visit the TNPDS ration card website.
  2. Afterward, you have to click on the option Payee on the start page.
  3. After clicking you need to enter your mobile phone number and then send OTP.
  4. Your profile will then open.
  5. You will get the option “Smart Card Printing”, please click on it.
  6. After clicking Save, save it as a PDF.
